Ashok Vatika is the royal garden where Sita was held captive by King Ravana. The exact location of the garden is unknown, but it is believed that Ashok Vatika is located in the region of Sita Eliya of Nuwara Eliya. The place inherits its name from the Ashok trees which were there in the garden. It is said that Sita left Ravana’s palace and came to Ashok Vatika, displeased by Ravana’s treatment.
