Cycling Tour - 15 Days

Day 1
Airport/ Negombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be greeted by Overa tours chauffeur guide and then be transfer to negombo. You can rest of the day free at hotel and the Pre-dinner meeting with your cycling guides.

Day 2
Negombo/ Jaffna

After breakfast, we start riding out from the negombo to Jaffna along minor roads towards the north of the island. In negombo area you can see the blend of culture and religions. Colonial-style architecture remains in many of the buildings in Negombo, like the church, but local traditions appear to have outlived the colonizers. Riding time will be Approximately 3 – 4 Hours as your requirement on the way to Jaffna peninsula. After riding, we rack up the bikes and transfer rest of the distance to Jaffna.

Day 3

After breakfast in the hotel, we start riding in Jaffna peninsula. Cycle tour will cover most of the Jaffna city attractions including fort, library, Subramaniam park, old park, coastal villages, Rio ice cream, Nallur temple, St James church, St Mary’s Cathedral in Jaffna, Buddhist dagoba, statue of last king of Jaffna kingdom, arc of last kingdom’s palace, last king’s minister house etc. Tour will cover approximately 18 km. Special opportunity is provided to get experiencing the taste Rio ice cream if the guests want to do. At the end, sunset can be captured or viewed at a suitable place.

Day 4
Jaffna/ Puttalam

After breakfast, you will be proceed from Jaffana to Puttalam. The riding time will be Approximately 3 – 4 Hours as your requirement on the way to Puttalam. After riding, we rack up the bikes and you are transferred rest of the distance to Puttalam. Puttalam is an area in the northwest of the island country Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo. Puttalama city of Sri Lanka is a beautiful one embellished with multiple sightseeing options. Both locals and foreign travelers enjoy adventure, adrenaline and relaxing trips at this tourist destination. Tourists keep flocking to Puttalam to explore this thinly populated area in Sri Lanka. The fascinating mixture of cultures and religions turn this region a place of diverse identity and multifarious approach to human society. Day 5
Puttalam/ Anuradhapura

After breakfast, you will be proceed from Mannar to Anuradhapura. We rack up the bikes and transfer to Anuradhapura. Then start riding in the oldest city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura was the capital of the Sinhalese Kingdom until the beginning of the 11th century AD and has some of the oldest and largest Buddhist monuments in Asia. Cycle by the beautiful Tissawewa reservoir. View the majestic Jetavanaramaya, which was one of the tallest monuments in the Ancient, Shri maha Bodhi, Ruvanvelisaya Dagoba, Jethawana Dagoba, Abhayagiri Dagoba, Archaeological museum, Isurumuniya, Rathnaprasada, Lovamahapaya, Kuttam Pokuna, Samadhi Statue, Ranmasu Uyana, Vessagiriya, Naga Vihara, Lankaramaya. Riding time will be Approximately 3 – 4 Hours.

Day 6

Full Day Relax at Your Lovely Hotel, Anuradhapura.

Day 7
Anuradhapura/ Sigiriya

After breakfast, we start with a relaxed ride from Anuradhapura to Sigiriya. En route, you are stopped at Ritigala, a nature reserve. Legend has it the rocky outcrop is part of the Himalayas, dropped by the monkey god Hanuman. When requested to bring a magic herb to heal his master, he forgot the name and brought the whole mountain. We rack up the bikes and you are transferred rest of the distance to Sigiriya. Then start to climb up Sigiriya Rock, a 5th century citadel built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD).

Day 8
Sigiriya/ Dambulla/ Kandy

After breakfast, we start Riding. The riding time will be Approximately 3 – 4 Hours as your requirement on the way to Kandy. After riding, we rack up the bikes and you are transferred rest of the distance to Kandy. En route, you can visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. The beauty of Dambulla cave temple combines with an iconic Sri Lankan image where you can be familiar with its spectacular Buddha, filled interior long before you arrive in town. Dambulla Cave Temple glory is recognized and that is why it holds the title of a UNESCO world heritage site.

Day 9

After breakfast in the hotel, we start the Kandy City Tour. Tour gives you an opportunity to explore Kandy City differently on a bicycle. Visit the Gannoruwa agro farm, spread over 80 hectares, where the guests are offered a chance to have a look at the local industries ranging from high-tech agriculture farms to spice gardens.

Day 10
Kandy/ Hatton

After the breakfast, you are start cycling from Kandy to Hatton with bike. Actually, it is a unique kind of experience cycling from Kandy to Hatton. From Kandy to Hatton cycling trail based in through Tea plantations you will explore picturesque landscapes. En-route you will visit to a Tea Factory and experience “Pure Ceylon Tea” manufacturing process, meantime you can refresh with “Pure Ceylon Tea”.

Day 11

Full day Relax at Hatton, In your Lovely Hotel.

Day 12
Hatton/ Udawalawe National Park

After breakfast, we start Riding. The riding time will be Approximately 3 – 4 Hours as your requirement on the way to Udawalawe. After riding, we rack up the bikes and you are transferred rest of the distance to Udawalawe. Udawalawe National Park consist with herds of elephants, wild buffalo, sambar and spotted deer, and giant squirrel, this Sri Lankan national park is one of the nation’s finest. In fact, for elephant-watching, Udawalawe often surpasses many of the most famous East African national parks. The park, which centres on the 308.2-sq-km Udawalawe Reservoir, is lightly vegetated, but it has a stark beauty and the lack of dense vegetation makes game-watching easy.

Day 13
Udawalawe/ Mirissa

After breakfast, you will be proceed from Udawalawe to Mirissa. We rack up the bikes and transfer to Mirissa. Then start riding a city in mirissa, Sri Lanka. Mirissa is the one of a best place in the Sri lanka to see one of the only recorded resident blue whale colonies and their natural habitat. Dolphins are regularly spotted on whale watching trips organized from Mirissa and Dondra head on the south coast. The BBC documentary titled “Ocean Giants” featuring the mesmeric world of Whales and Dolphins, and the scientist’s effort to shed light on their habits and why they grow so large were filmed around Sri Lanka and according to them 30 Blue Whales were sighted in a single day!

Full day Relax at Mirissa beach.
