Serendib scops is a small rufescent scops-owl with a relatively short tail. It prefers to live within the wet zone. You will mostly spot the Serendib scops throughout the rain forests of the southwest part of the island. It is entirely nocturnal and very rare. Kitulgala and Sinharaja are the best locations to catch a glimpse of this rare gem.
