Another forest dweller endemic to Sri Lanka is the red-faced Malkoha. At first glance, you will notice the bird’s bright red face, which is one of its unique characteristics. Other than that, it is also known to have very arboreal habits. You can spot them in the undistributed wet zone forests of Sri Lanka and in a few of the tall riparian forests of the drier parts. They usually live in pairs or sometimes in small groups. Sinharaja is the perfect place to spot this unique bird.
