When is the best time to visit Sri Lanka?
It depends which part of the island you want to see, and because Sri Lanka is small, there is almost always somewhere in good weather. The south and west coasts and the hill country are at their best from December to March. The east coast — Trincomalee and Arugam Bay — is best from April to September. When you enquire, we build your route around the season so each region is seen at its best; after sixteen years we know exactly how to sequence it.
How many days do I need?
We suggest a minimum of 8–10 nights to see the island’s main regions without rushing. Eleven to fourteen nights is the sweet spot: enough for the Cultural Triangle, a couple of days in tea country, a wildlife safari, and time to unwind on the coast. If you only have a week, we focus on one or two regions and do them properly rather than spreading you thin.
Are your trips private and tailor-made, or fixed group tours?
Every trip we plan is private and built around you — your dates, your pace, your interests. You travel with your own driver-guide, not a coachload of strangers. We start from your ideas and shape an itinerary from there; nothing is off-the-shelf.
What wildlife can I see?
Sri Lanka is one of Asia’s best safari destinations. Yala National Park has one of the highest leopard densities in the world, alongside elephants, sloth bears and crocodiles. Wilpattu offers a wilder, quieter leopard experience. At Minneriya, hundreds of elephants gather around the reservoir between roughly July and October — the famous “Gathering.” Blue and sperm whales pass the southern coast off Mirissa between November and April. We can build any or all of these into your route.
How do I get around — is it safe to travel?
You travel by private, air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced Overa driver-guide throughout — no self-driving, no working out timetables. Sri Lanka is a well-established and welcoming destination for international visitors, and our team is reachable throughout your trip if anything needs adjusting. For the scenic hill-country leg we can also arrange the famous train through tea country.

Do I need a visa, and can you help?
Most visitors need an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) to enter Sri Lanka, applied for online before travel. Requirements can change, so we point you to the current official process and are happy to guide you through it, though the application itself is made by you directly.
