Day 1
Airport / Negombo

On arrival at the Bandaranayake International airport, you will be warmly greeted by our very own chauffeur guide and transferred to negombo. You can rest of the day free at beach or enjoy a negombo city tour.

Day 2
Negombo / Nuwaraeliya

After breakfast you will be proceed to Nuwaraeliya. It is the very famous destination for the Ramayana trails. Gayathri Amman is a one of Ramayana site in Nuwaraeliya, Sri Lanka. Gayathri Pitam is said to be the place from where King Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and worship and in turn was granted super natural powers by the mighty god. Sita Amman Temple believes that sita spent most of the time during her captivity on the island of Lanka. After she refused to stay in Ravana’s magnificent palace she was transferred to Ashoka Vatika or Ashoka Vana where she lived under Ashoka trees. There are remarkable holes in the rocks at the river bank believed to be footprints of Lord Hamunan.

• Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda

Ramboda is an area, where the forces of Rama’s gather to fight against King Ravana. This temple was built by the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka and dedicated to Hanuman. This temple houses for 16 feel height statue of Hanuman.

Day 3
Nuwaraeliya / Kandy

After breakfast you will be proceed to Kandy. Henceforth you would journey to the rock city in the hilltops, Kandy, stunningly beautiful and refreshingly sweet. The Kandyan Kingdom remained to be a very prominent Capital in the history of Sri Lanka until it was captured in 1815. Now it holds itself as the centre of art, religion and culture of Sri Lanka. Kandy is famous for the sacred Buddhist site, the Temple of the Tooth. It is the holiest Buddhist location in Sri Lanka.

Day 4
Kandy / Trincomalee

After breakfast you will be proceed to Trincomalee. It is the capital of the Eastern Province. It has a wide harbor, which is best natural shelters in the world, and has one of the most sacred Tamil temples. Koneswaram temple is a classical-medieval Hindu temple in Trincomalee, it is consider as Hindu religious pilgrimage centre in Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. It was built by Rishi Agastya with the instructions of Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place is unique in this respect because the Lord built a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion. Ravana Hot water wells are the unique thing to visit in kinniya, Trincomalee. There is a legend behind the hot water wells in kinniya. This place where King Ravana carried out the last rites for his mother. When he was unable to find water to duly perform the rites, he in anger pierced his Trishula into the ground seven times.

Day 5
Trincomalee / Jaffna

After breakfast proceed to the Jaffna peninsula, on the way along the north-east coast, which once was the civil war area, have a break at the Kannagi Amman Kovil in Vattapalai, a station of Sri Lanka’s traditonal Pada Yatra pilgrimage route. Check in at your hotel in Jaffna city.


• Selva Sannidhi Murugan Temple

• Kachchativu. It is a small island in the middle of the Palk Strait, halfway between Jaffna and India’s Rameswaram. It is one of the spots associated with the much-loved story of Hanuman carrying through the air a part of the Himalayas to Lanka in order to cure Rama and Lakshmana from otherwise never-healing wounds.

Day 6
Jaffna / Velannai Island / Jaffna city

After breakfast cross the bridge to Velannai Island and take a boat to Naninativu Island. Visit Sri Lanka’s famous Tamil temple Nagapushani Amman Kovil. Have a look to the neighbouring Buddhist Nagadipa temple, too. Opportunity to take part in a boat trip to Delft Island. After lunchtime visit Jaffna city’s most significant sacred site, Nallur Kandaswamy temple. The rest of the afternoon is free for leisure or shopping in Jaffna city.

Day 7
Jaffna city / Negombo

After breakfast you will be proceed to Negombo. En-route visiting Replica of Murugan Temple, Manavari and Munneshwaram Temples. Munneswaram predates the Ramayana and a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was located here. A Shiva Lingam was already here when Lord Rama visited this place. Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya with Sita in one of King Ravana’s Vimanas. Manavari kovil located near to the DeduruOya (river) in Chilaw. This place is the first lingam installed and prayed by Rama, hence to date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.

Day 8
Negombo / Airport
